**This is a Temporary 11 month (40 hour week) January – November position.** The Office Assistant provides secretarial and clerical assistance for the Marine Patrol district personnel. Duties include: composing, drafting, editing and producing documents and correspondence; data entry of weekly and monthly district reports; maintaining and filing records; and providing administrative and clerical assistance for staff as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Experience with customer service to include public contact via telephone and in person.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Strong skills in written correspondence, using correct grammar, vocabulary and spelling.
Basic knowledge to respond to inquiries from commercial and recreational fishermen and the public. Skills test will be administered. Applicants must pass a background check
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
