Assists in the operation of sports leagues and programs including, but not limited to assisting league organization, player evaluations, coaches’ background checks, registration books, meeting agendas, press releases, mailings, and participant surveys. Does record keeping including, game results, standings, rainout rescheduling, umpire records, field maintenance scheduling and player data base roster management using Word, Excel and Rec Trac.

Interacts with players, coaches, user group representatives and the general public. Covers programs in the emergency absence of recreation supervisors.

Assists in the planning details of special events and serves as on site person at various special events, including, but not limited to: races, concerts, fireworks, festivals, field days, providing operation support, crowd control, public relations and working with other employees to provide set-up, operation, clean-up and safety for the event.

Attends League Games and other recreation activities as needed.

Inventories, organizes, and transports a variety of recreation related supplies, materials and equipment for various sports and other leisure activities, prepares equipment bags, maintains storage areas at Town Hall and at field locations.

Processes individual field permit requests and assists in the maintenance of the field schedule book.

Performs related work as needed.

30 - 35 hours per week throught the end of August.

Minimum Qualifications & Special Necessary Requirements:

Equivalent of one year experience in leisure service work, which can include programming, special events office work and facility operation. Basic computer skills, with some knowledge of word and excel, possession of valid Driver’s License.
