Position Summary:

The successful candidate will serve as a Sr. Systems Engineer responsible for deployment and support of EA’s private virtual infrastructure supporting our global game development studios. In this exciting position you will be working with a world class IT organization building and maintaining private / hybrid cloud infrastructure to support next generation game development.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Requirements and Functions
  • Support of a control platform utilized to orchestrate cloud resource provisioning, configuration, and decommissioning across a distributed set of diverse physical resources
  • Provide support for global virtual infrastructure, responsible for delivering capacity planning, analysis, and monitoring
  • Create and maintain cloud system components, such as blueprints, reservations, provisioning groups and customized workflows
  • Manage and troubleshoot cloud management systems and external integration points such as external cloud provider and storage endpoints as they relate to the hybrid cloud platform
  • Integrate additional virtualization platforms such as KVM, Xen and Hyper-V into existing hybrid cloud infrastructure
  • Lead day to day L3 support of Private Cloud environments, including preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Work with IT application development teams as they integrate new external systems and workflows into the cloud platform to ensure the user experience remains second to none
  • Follow and adhere to EA defined policies, procedures, and standards as well as collaborate to document new practices

Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum five (5) years consulting experience designing and implementing VMware vSphere solutions
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent degree plus applicable work experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in large-scale systems design, integration and installation
  • Experience in the administration, configuration and implementation of Public and Private Cloud solutions
  • Superior knowledge in virtualization technologies VMware vSphere, ESXi, Hyper-V, Xen Cloud concepts, Web Services and API's
  • Experience with Cloud Orchestration solutions
  • Scripting skills with strong knowledge of VMware PowerCLI. Design automated scripts to improve efficiency, operational stability and operational integrity
  • 5+ years Configure, build, implement, and administer ESX/ESXi Servers including patches and updates, and assist in resolving associatedyeah system outages and other incidents
  • Possess excellent communication skills and be successful working both independently and with cross-functional teams
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
  • Experienced in Linux systems administration and package deployment
  • Knowledge of Network systems (i.e. Cisco routers and switches)
  • Knowledge of Load Balancing, Firewalls, LAN, WAN and High Availability
  • Network Configuration (TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, LDAP and WINS)
  • Experienced with Backup and Business Continuity solutions
