This position will use personal experience, data and an entrepreneurial spirit to launch and grow our on-line and retail store tennis business. This will be accomplished by developing profitable assortment plans, analyzing and reacting to sales and inventory data, building vendor partnerships and developing innovative marketing strategies. This position interfaces with all other functional areas of the company, including marketing, web and catalog design, customer relations, fulfillment and accounting. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
Perform all buying functions and have financial responsibility for all tennis categories. • All purchase, product assortment and pricing decisions • Sales and gross margin goals • Inventory turn • Identify and capitalize on the latest trends in the sport 2. Work cross-functionally with Marketing in the following areas: • Email content " presentations • Promotional strategies • Website content to improve SEO and traffic conversion • Catalog content " presentations 3. Develop and manage vendor partnerships, including: • Vendor promotions • Marketing fund solicitation • Website, catalog and email presentations • Negotiation of net downs • MAP compliance • Assist in store promotions " demo events 4.
Set roll-out strategy for new product launches, including home page, email, catalog, retail store, social media, press releases, and training for customer service associates. 5. Collaborate with Operations and IT to develop a best-in-class racquet demo and stringing program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • 5-years experience in retail tennis purchasing; e-commerce / direct-to-consumer preferred.
