PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To identify, develop, and close systems sales opportunities within an assigned geographic area. Work with state & local government agencies; and other current or potential customers in the major business and industrial industries. Maximize company resources through sales in the interest of profitability while constantly representing the company in a professional manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Identifies potential customers through networking, cold calling, and other forms of prospecting. Determines qualified contacts with decision-making authority and establishes critical relationships accordingly.
Develops and maintains ongoing account profiles and history. Effectively communicates all relevant information both internally and externally as required.
Select and evaluate potential dealers within the territory.
Evaluates the state of the competition within territory. Determines impact of relevant competition on current and potential accounts and defines appropriate strategies to promote company strengths and capitalize on competitions’ weaknesses.
Works closely with other departments within the company to provide efficient and professional customer service for all accounts, current and prospective.
Meets or exceeds pre-determined quotas regularly. Cultivates and closes orders, monitoring flow of orders from award to final shipment to ensure customer satisfaction.
Acts as first contact for current and prospective customers. Works with the customer and relevant internal staff to resolve any customer inquiries or concerns.
Operates within budgetary constraints. Maximizes company resources in the interest of profitability goals.
Maintains appropriate relationships with potential subcontractors including but not limited to local radio service providers.
Exhibits desirable and appropriate professional behavior including leadership, sense of urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, ability to get along with others, creative thinking and personal integrity to provide for a cohesive, productive unit dedicated to the achievement of corporate goals.
KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION:
Four year college degree.
Basic system and radio sales skills.
Knowledge of or ability to learn laptop computer skills.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Three years experience in two-way radio systems sales.
Experience working independently and with quotas.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively, through both written and oral means.
Ability to continuously present a professional and positive image as a representative of the company.
