Summary:
Provide expert consultation in the analysis and evaluation of research and development or operational activities, technical products, or systems. Analyze intelligence information in the field of general intelligence, counterintelligence, terrorism and force protection, in support of national or military service collection missions to assist counter-terrorist, counter-insurgent operations and planning functions. May support planning and training of CI/HUMINT operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.- - - Prepares counterterrorism (CT) related finished intelligence analysis reports and provides focused analytical support to investigations and operations.

2.- - - Performs in-depth research, compilation, and analysis of a wide range of complex and sensitive information to determine threats to the USAF, DoD and US interests. From research and analysis, produces both short and long-term intelligence products from which senior commanders and leaders can base decision s and allocate resources.-

3.- - - Provides focused analysis in order to evaluate the significance of the information collected, extract and further disseminate relevant counterintelligence and threat information in order to inform DoD community of current threat streams.

4.- - - Develops and projects data, draws conclusion, and estimates probabilities based upon knowledge of current and past intelligence situations and an understanding of the significance of the conditions and threats. Presents findings and recommendations to superiors and policy makers.-

5.- - - Assists in the coordination, review, and evaluation of counterintelligence activities within AFOSI and coordinates those activities with DoD and national-level agencies.

6.- - - Reviews and evaluates AFOSI field counterintelligence reporting for content and responsiveness to taskings and provides constructive feedback to enhance field performance.-

7.- - - Identifies critical intelligence gaps in collections and recommends corrective action.

8.- - - Prepares and presents briefings on CI/CT matters to AFOSI, USAF, DoD and national-level agencies. May represent AFOSI as a recognized subject matter expert.

9.- - - Other duties may be assigned to meet customer needs.

May provide specific direction to staff but does not have formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Knowledge of interactions required between various national intelligence agencies.
  • Experience evaluating and writing threat analysis products.
  • Familiarity with terrorist organizations, tactics, techniques and funding systems. -
Education and/or Experience:
Masters degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; however a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with significant experience can be substituted in lieu of this requirement. Preferred subject disciplines include International Relations/Affairs, National Security Policy, History, Political Science, or Intelligence Studies.- Five years of counterintelligence or intelligence analysis experience in terrorism or force protection is required; experience obtained from AFOSI or another military agency is preferred.

Computer Skills:
Applicants must have demonstrated proficiency using M3/AMHS, Analyst Notebook and intelligence/counterintelligence databases and web-based programs for information gathering.- Must have advanced working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook

Travel: - Must be willing to attend off-site meetings in the DC area when necessary. Must be willing to make 3-5 CONUS TDYs lasting 5-7 days each in support of current AFOSI CT efforts. As mission dictates, may be subject to long-term TDYs up to 90 days.-
