Vertex Inc is looking for a Test Analyst II to provide professional expertise in defining the test targets, test cases and verification of the test coverage. To provide domain knowledge for all Vertex market products and Vertex internal applications. To provide ownership for test cases strategy and test cases. Assists Test Analyst Manager and other Test Analysts on various test documentation methodologies, products related issues, issues/improvements related to test documentation, product quality assessment and monitoring, and their recommendations for improvement.
In this role, you will assume responsibility for the following:
Definition of the test targets as per recommended strategy
Development of the test cases per project/product based on the strategy. Recommendation and development of the test cases structure
Maintenance of the test cases library per product/feature set/test type; Monitoring of the requirements/product changes. Updates to the test cases according to the approved change. Updates to the test cases based on results of their execution
Verification of the requirements/tests traceability and coverage
Continuous improvement of the efficiency and structure of test cases to assist in improving test scripts development and execution
Periodic assessment/evaluation of Change Requests/defects and their impact on the system
Development of the new test cases for Change Requests
Developing, gathering and managing test data
Gathering measures based on measurement plan
Evaluation of the outcome of the each test cycle
We encourage individuals possessing all of the following minimum qualifications to apply immediately:
Education & Training:
Bachelor degree in a technical discipline or equivalent technical experience is required
3+ years experience in application software environments required
3+ years in software testing in multiple environments including test cases design & development, and test execution required
1+ years in QA including procedures/policies development and compliance required
1+ year experience in Test Management Tools (such as HP Quality Center) required
1+ year with QTP strongly desired
1+ year in business requirements development strongly desired
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
Finance, accounting, or tax background desired
Proven experience in multiple environments including test planning, identifying quality risks, developing and executing tests, and providing quality assessments
Proven experience developing test cases and test scenarios using formal test design and experience-based techniques
Experience business processes analysis, process and product requirements elicitation, and various test approaches.
Identification, development and utilization of metrics for decision support
Demonstrated understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance
Knowledge of common software failures and faults
Hands-on test execution and troubleshooting experience; Experience working with Defect Management system (reporting & analysis)
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Good troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail required
Working experience in developing test cases for non-functional tests (performance, stress, failures/recovery, etc) desired
Experience with architectural models/diagrams desired
Experience with complex products desired
Good time-management skills. Ability to multi-task or work on multiple projects concurrently;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; strong team player
Proficient PC skills required. Experience working with MS Office applications including MS Access; Strong Excel experience required
