JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinate daily testing and technical support for Powertrain development department – specific focus on technical facility support and state of the art instrumentation required for the modern test methods of engine development. Develops, implements, and maintains engineering procedures and requirements. Develops specifications and works with suppliers to deliver optimized Powertrain testing. Oversee test technicians and engineers on projects as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1). Represent technology within Powertrain engineering and develop testing methods that properly meet requirements of current and future specifications for the applicable Product Lines
2) Coordinates testing of powertrains : develops test criteria, tools, methods.
3). Maintain existing Powertrain development systems - including dyno controls, combustion equipment, ETA based, ATI based, SOMAT, and independent systems.
4) Uses engineering principles to develop and specify test procedures and equipment necessary to conduct performance and function test on Polaris engines
5). Develop testing procedures and ensure that all measurement systems employ the appropriate technology. Responsible for data integrity and all technical aspects of the testing process, whether onsite or at a contracted facility.
6). Additionally, ensure that all associated test results are reported in professional and timely manner.
7). Assists in designing new or improved components. Prepares and presents formal documentation as required.
8). Records and analyzes test data using statistical, analytical, and other state of the art techniques. In a professional manner, researches alternatives, and implement solutions to meet design objectives.
9). Interact and direct resources at multiple Powertrain and product group engineering sights.
10. Provide leadership, supervision, and training for technicians in the various Polaris facilities
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Specific skills need to include high speed data acquisition, basic engine systems/operations, engine testing equipment, and methods in base engine development including the proper testing methods and the associated testing equipment/tools. BSME or similar required.
