Kempsville Center for
Behavioral Health , founded in 1986, is an
83 bed facility within the city of Norfolk, Virginia. Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health offers comprehensive
mental health programs to the state of Virginia. We provide
psychiatrically and medically managed acute and residential treatment
for children and adolescents with significant impairments in their
social and emotional development. We provide quality care to children
and adolescents in need using quality, evidence based practice
treatments. We are accredited by The
Joint Commission (TJC), and are licensed by the Commonwealth of
Virginia and The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and
Developmental Services (DBHDS). Kempsville Center for Behavioral
Health currently has a Licensed Therapist position available. The candidate selected will

1. Licensed Clinical Psychologist,
Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional
Counselor or Psychiatrist in Commonwealth of Virginia preferred.
Candidates approved for supervision by the Virginia Board of Health
Professionals will be considered.
2. Must have current CSAC for the
Commonwealth of Virginia.
3. Must have two or more years experience in a mental health
setting working with children and/or adolescents.
4. Must possess knowledge of major aspects of acute
and/or residential treatment, program development, aftercare, the
Joint Commission standards, State standards and regulations and
