Hemodialysis Clinical TechnicianThe Hemodialysis Clinical Technician will act as the subject matter expert on the practical performance of hemodialysis treatments in a clinical setting. This person will use his/her experience, knowledge, and judgment to assist in the design and development of a hemodialysis machine Position requires hemodialysis machine experience in a chronic, routine maintenance dialysis setting, at the Nurse or Patient Care Technician level At least five years experience in daily machine preparation, patient prescription setting, patient cannulation, hemodialysis treatment, and end of treatment issues is necessary Previous experience with Gambro brand hemodialysis machines is highly desired Ability to work within an engineering laboratory environment, working closely with verification/validation engineers to formulate, execute, and document testing scenarios and solve machine related problems in a simulated setting Good documentation skills are a must Ability to work largely unsupervised; ability to lead and direct others in similar roles
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED/QUALIFICATIONS: • The ideal candidate will have a degree in Nursing, or a Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician certification, with a minimum of 5 years experience in chronic hemodialysis setting. • Demonstrated problem solving abilities• Ability to read and understand high level engineering specifications• Demonstrated professional level documentation and communication skills• Competency in working with normal office software such as Microsoft Word and ability to communicate effectively with email• Ability to work within an engineering laboratory environment, performing simulated hemodialysis treatments to solve problems• Organization skills and the demonstrated ability for attention to detail.• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and comfortably with all levels within the businesses.• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and communicate within other functional areas including training, sales/marketing, technical service.• Endurance and the tenacity to work on complex, detailed projects through completion.RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs simulated hemodialysis treatments on existing and prototype machines for problem detection (bugs), problem resolution• Report problems found in various software/hardware configurations• Assist engineers in problem replication and resolution• Educates, informs, provide opinions and solutions related to basic clinical practices• Assist engineering in verification and validation testing protocol development and execution• Perform clinical training as necessary
