Job Duties :
Responsible for searching public records to verify ownership of legal and equitable interests in real estate parcels, to verify names and addresses of owners and other holders of interests in the parcels, and to verify the legal descriptions of the parcels, and data entry of search results into tax and court software.
Search plat and map books, deeds, Federal and State tax liens, certificates of dangerous buildings, assignments, deeds of trust, and other documents recorded with the County Recorder, and searching Circuit Court records, Probate Court records, and Secretary of State records, and data entry of search results into tax and court software.
Performs other duties as assigned, including special projects, maintaining tax and protest records, and assisting taxpayers, attorneys and property tax representatives in person, by telephone and correspondence with all matters involving property tax and protested tax processes.
Minimum Qualifications :
Must have a High School diploma/GED, two years of college and/or two years experience in government accounting or business preferred
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years title insurance experience.
Must submit to/pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
