The Tool Room Attendant provides excellent positive customer service to our students and staff and uses strong organizational skills to maintain and operate the tool room by tracking equipment using the inventory control system and working to create a zero-loss environment.
TYPICAL WORK HOURS
Tool Room Attendants are expected to be available during campus hours, which are typically 7:00 am to 11:00 pm Monday through Friday and occasional weekends. The Tool Room Attendant’s job is eligible for overtime pay.
Issues and receives all tools/consumables for our students and instructors
Verifies all tools are accounted for before and after each shift
Notify instructors and campus leadership of students not returning tools
Maintain all tools; repair and service all tooling when damaged or worn from general use
Assist with requisition and acquisition of new tools
Keep required inventory current
Verify the quantities, cost, lab equipment, and categories are correct in the inventory control system
Replace worn-out barcodes that will not scan
Adjust tools daily, following the correct operating procedure
Communicate with Program Director and instructors to ensure materials are available for students to perform lab
Keep tool room clean and well organized at all times
Responsible for shipping and receiving of inventory, equipment, and consumables; maintain records of tools and consumables
Other duties as assigned

Working knowledge of tools
Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of job, including heavy lifting
Basic computer skills
Basic knowledge of MS Office
1 year of inventory control experience
1 year of related trade experience
Typical Indoor environment; little exposure to elements, though some supplies will require cautious and appropriate handling.
