Responsible for all operations associated with fulfilling field tool requests and maintenance of tools. In this role, you will be responsible for inventory control, build out of orders / kits, receipt, dispatch, HAZMAT control and etc. for tooling. In this role you will also be responsible for validation (visual, electrical & mechanical inspections), trouble shooting and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic tooling that are used for wind turbine maintenance and repair.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will:
Provide excellent customer service, detailed inventory control, on time shipping and receiving of wind turbine installation, service and repair tools at the Olive Branch CWLC

Use expertise and a systematic approach to problem solving in order to effectively identify and solve equipment electrical, mechanical & hydraulic problems both in the Tooling Center and via Phone

Perform operations checks, routine preventive maintenance / repairs and annual calibrations on WFS tooling; Example: hydraulic & electrical torque, standard mechanical tools (wrenches, screw drivers, sockets, torque wrenches etc.), mechanical measurement devices (micrometers, calipers etc.), electrical measurement devices (multi, volt, amp meters, etc.), advanced inspection system (video borescope, etc.) lifting devices and other specialty tooling

Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean warehouse at all times (show a high level of attention to obstacles and potential hazards in the workplace inside and outside the Warehouse and bring to the attention of management)

Receive and process tools orders and returns using established inventory control procedures

Assembly of tool kits with documentation to ensure simplicity of receipt by field personnel

Package supplier and calibration returns to ensure minimal shipping damages

Issue Bills of Lading to Shipping contractors including creation of customs documents

Follow all inventory control procedures when stocking shelves and filling orders for Tool Requisitions

Analyze and recommend spare tooling / part inventory levels, organize stock for orderly storage and monitor usage

Suggest areas of improvement to the flow of tools into and out of the warehouse

Update / Maintain Maximo inventory / asset management system per established processes

Develop maintenance guides, processes and procedures as necessary


Associate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology

Minimum of 4 years of experience in the operations, maintenance and repair of modern industrial electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical tooling / fixtures preferably in a customer service organization

Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain HAZMATat & Forklift Certification

Ability and willingness to lift / move heavy tools up to 70lbs

Ability and willingness to support the operation on off hours and seven days a week as required

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Desired Characteristics

Inventory control experience

Ability to strictly follow GE inventory processes and procedures as directed

Ability to learn and use Maximo inventory control

Proficient in all Microsoft applications Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Viso

High degree of customer service and a sense of urgency for tools fulfillment to service team

Proficiency in technical writing and process documentation

Safety conscious

Detail orientated

Prior tool maintenance, warehouse and distribution experience

Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels at the Tool Center and Wind Farms

Minimum of 1 year of hands on familiarity with GE Wind service and repair tools

Ability and willingness to take initiative, and work without direct supervision

Ability and willingness to interpret technical manuals, procedures and regulation
