Acero Precision is a leading, global OEM Contract Manufacturer of precision machined components and is looking for a Tooling Services Librarian. We specialize in the manufacturing and assembly of complex, close tolerance products. Our range of clients includes the Medical Device, Motorsport, and Analytical Industries . Acero Precision is building a brand new state-of-the-art 80,000 square foot manufacturing facility located in West Chester, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia.
In order to maintain our growth and continue serving our customers with excellent service, our Recruiting Team searches for the best and brightest in their field. Currently, we are seeking Tooling Services Librarian to maintain the Tool Department organization, provide purchasing support, inventory, and disbursement of tooling related resources throughout the company.
Daily operations include, but are not limited to:
Inserts, drills, end mills, and cutting tools of all kinds, must be kept organized, cataloged accurately, restocked when necessary, and constantly available to manufacturing personnel.
Perishable tools that can be repaired or re-sharpened must be tracked, shipped to service vendors, inspected when returned, and managed as an active part of the total tooling inventory.
Tool holders, insert-type drills, bushings and adaptors, and other “semi-perishable” tools, must be cleaned and inspected after every use, stored properly, and repaired or replaced when necessary.
Live tool holders, or others with periodic maintenance needs, must be cleaned after each use, inspected for wear or problems, stored safely and appropriately, or set aside for repair by the maintenance department or outside vendors.
Collets of all kinds, plus chucks and other work-holding system components, must also be kept clean, in good repair, and stored/organized properly at all times.
Tooling carts are used to return tools from machines to the Tooling Services Department. The Tooling Services Librarian is responsible for collecting the carts on a daily basis, and for removing, organizing, cleaning, and putting away, all tools and materials on the carts.
The Acero Precision Tooling Locator is the primary “catalog” of in house tooling used by manufacturing personnel. The Locator must be kept current and accurate at all times, and updated whenever new tools are purchased or old tools are deemed obsolete.
When machine setups are planned, the Tooling Services Librarian will prepare setup bins with all the cutting tools and tooling related material specified by the job setup sheet, or requested by the person responsible for the setup. Working with the shop schedule, setup bins will be prepared in advance, whenever possible.
BA/BS degree and/or at least 3 years work equivalent
Good organizational and record-keeping skills
Experience with Windows computers, and with Microsoft Excel in particular
Basic mechanical skills, including hand tools and their proper use
A strong commitment to detail, and to error-free performance
Willing to work 50 orm ore hours weekly, and potentially two Saturdays per month.
Certification or specialized training
