JOB DESCRIPTION: To plan and perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks which increase the reliability, up time, and longevity of the manufacturing equipment.
Job Summary: Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment by following all plant and department specific safety rules, procedures, policies and programs; attending required training; identifying and reporting hazards; wearing all required personal protective equipment for all plant, department, and task specific requirements; and is accountable for self as well as co-workers safety. Responsible for maintaining equipment in safe operating condition by performing preventative maintenance, root cause analysis, troubleshoots, repairs, and improvements when needed.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Observe all prescribed or standard safety rules and regulations.
Leads and participates in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities, works within a TPM culture, and utilizes TPM tools and training.
Plan and perform all lubrication services, machine inspections, filter changes and basic repairs.
Advise management on significant maintenance trends affecting the manufacturing equipment and proposals for improvement.
Generates and maintains equipment PM records, records of activities and communicates to Supervisor(s) when parts or supplies are needed.
Participates in Root Cause Analysis and CAPA events.
Contribute to continuous process improvement efforts to reduce scrap, cycle times, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste within the production environment.
Work from assigned schedule, work orders, perform and make decisions as the sequence of setups and processes within recognized methods and procedures.
Attend and participate in department and plant meetings as needed
Continuous improvement projects, designated Maintenance project work
Identify root cause and implement corrective action of processing problems in production when required. Good root cause and communication skills
Able to complete projects and other duties assigned in a timely manner
All interactions, work flow, productivity levels, and quality standards are implemented with a “Customer Service" approach to both internal and external customers.
May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
Improves productivity by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt
Ensure work is completion to standard.
Keep area clean and equipment in good working order within a 5S environment.
Involvement in developmental project work, including working with engineering, manufacturing and outside vendors for parts and services
Participates as part of the technical resources for the on-site staff. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, management, and other manufacturing personnel
Able to work well with others / self motivated
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, strong attendance and safety record
Must be able to stand and walk for majority of a 8 hour shift
Ability to walk up and down stairs
Must have the aptitude to follow verbal and written directions
Ability to use a ruler and measure to the closest millimetre
Must have good math skills. Able to add, subtract, divide, multiply decimals and weight grams
Identify the root-cause of defects in product and recommend processing adjustments to eliminate the defect.
Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential
Organizational, time management and prioritizing skills are required
Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Must possess a broad knowledge of mechanical principles and electro-mechanical techniques, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, robotics, conveying, automation, or other technical expertise.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED, Associates Degree and/or industrial
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
Physically able to lift 50 lbs
Standing up to 8 hours per day on a required schedule of Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hrs per week.
Must be available to work weekends, holidays and overtime
Occasional twisting, turning, or bending to move items up to 50 lbs.
Alert state of mind to avoid safety hazards, Able to make fast reaction to visual/sound signal.
Ability to read/see up to a millimeter, a ble to manipulate objects by hand.
Able to read; must be able to read English text, blueprints. Write, speak and understand English directions/instructions.
Writing skills required: Must be able to communicate in writing with all levels of the organization in English.
Basic Computer Skills.
Must be able to communicate and work within a team environment .
