Supports the activities of CPD Sales, Trade Department and Finance functions relative to the monitoring, tracking and analysis of trade spending, pricing, promotion and customer profitability as required for delivery of the business plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for monitoring, reporting, and analyzing of annual trade promotion activity.
Manage post promotional analysis activity, ROI and advanced pricing analytics to improve business plan and planning effectiveness
Evaluate active sales plans to ensure linkage with actual sales performance/consumption.
Provide post event analysis of key promotional events, volume, lift, cost, ROI, etc.
Identify efficient/inefficient trade spending events and accounts
Build a library of past promotional events
Use post promotional analysis to recommend planning insights and improvements
Manage the reporting and analyzing of account pricing strategies and execution.
Nielsen GPPS (syndicated data modeling)
Evaluate the financial impact of pricing changes
Nielsen Most Common Price Point review and analysis
Monitor pricing execution against expectations
Identify optimal thresholds and gaps
Lead processes of identifying necessary changes to sales plan volumes via consumption trends to increase trade system accuracy.
Lead testing and validation projects for Trade systems upgrades and implementations
Nielsen, Account Review, AFS Discovery, Advantage Sales and Marketing Sales Opportunity Explorer, Etc.
Develop training documentation and communication of system enhancements
Utilize Market Track information to track ad performance and compliance to sales plans
Advise sale plan modifications based upon past performance
Monitor competitive activity, price points and frequency
Compare in market activity to validate plan performance and timing (Activity mapped to key promotional periods)
Analyze Customer Profitability information to suggest sales plan improvements
Weekly / Monthly trade spending scorecards
Manage the identification of potential problem areas with regard to trade promotion spending and work directly with Trade Planning Analysts to implement improvements.
Manage the syndicated data analysis component of analyzing Strategic Trade Rate exceptions
Nielsen, Post Promotion Analysis, Profitability
Lead the process of reviewing and analyzing deductions on hold for any anomalies and ensure timeliness of approvals
Review and evaluate any Account Review plans needing approval due to plan changes
Requires interface with Trade Planning Analyst for resolution
Lead/Participate in conference calls with Accounting, Sales Manager, and Broker as needed.
Excellent verbal and presentation skills required
Ongoing management of annual business plans – Work with Field Sales to ensure that Sales plans are reflective of ongoing Trade spending strategies
Goal being to achieve budget within Strategic Planning Rates
Assist in the building of mid-year and annual customer business plan reviews
Assist Sales Managers to manage to their Strategic Planning Rates

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) and 3 to 5 years related experience
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manual. Ability to efficiently present information and to respond to questions from groups of Mgrs., clients, customers and general public.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent Excel and a fluency in PowerPoint, and MS Word skills are required.
