The Corporate Compliance Technology (CCT) organization supports regulatory and compliance requirements of the Compliance line of business with applications that monitor and report on suspected anti-money laundering activities along with screening activities of individuals and companies. Sr. Application Developer/Tech Lead
based in North America (Jersey City office) as part of the Compliance Technology – Trade Surveillance team.
Compliance Technology organization (CCT) provides technology solutions for the global compliance teams across all JP Morgan Chase lines of business. The CCT application portfolio is experiencing significant growth as the firmwide focus on regulatory management and reporting has increased.
CT is responsible for partnering with our clients to evolve business capabilities and improve end user experience with our solutions and services.
The Trade Surveillance program pertains to a global, cross-asset class set of surveillances that support our trading businesses. Specifically, Surveillance is the independent review of activity but traders and customers. The program includes:
Information Barrier & Restricted List/ Over the Wall monitoring
Employee/Personal Trading monitoring
Market Manipulation (majority of exchange based monitoring done in SMARTS)
Internal Surveillance (e.g. internal consistency/behavior patterns)
Regulatory driven (e.g. Unidentified Large Trader / Rule 13-H)Client Review (Suitability): Monitoring of Private Bank accounts and Sales Managers Review Compliance
with strong business understanding and technical skills to join the Compliance Technology to play an important role in the implementation of the Trade Surveillance target architecture. As a Senior Developer a candidate will carry the following responsibilities:
Person would be responsible for implementation of multiple project work streams. The role requires a strong understanding of
- take lead role in application design, development, and code reviews,
- incorporate security requirements into design,
- provide input to information/data flow,
- comply with project life cycle methodology and adhere to IT control policies and guidelines,
- incorporate corporate architectural standards into application design specifications,
- identify applicable system platform, components, and dependencies,
- document application specifications,
- provide uniform integration into legacy systems (where needed).

projects on the latest technologies, preferably with project implementation experience in financial organization. Person would play a senior role on the application development team. The individual will need to be very flexible and be able to react quickly to changing business needs.

The candidate must be comfortable communicating with both business and technologists of varying levels. Strong analytical skills, business knowledge and attention to detail will be required for this position. The candidate must be able to work independently, enjoy a fast-paced environment, handle multiple simultaneous projects, have exceptionally good verbal and written communication skills, and be comfortable dealing with all levels of management.
Must have 5+ years experience as a Sr. Application Developer in financial industry with strong knowledge of Compliance and Capital Markets and Trade Surveillance.
Good understanding of trading, investment banking, and financial instruments
Experience working with business community, must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Strong experience/understanding of business process reengineering and business modeling concepts
Proven experience with application development; strong SDLC knowledge
