Performs supervisory and participatory work in the construction, erection, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures. Responsibilities include the supervision of a work crew involved in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of equipment, furnishings, and various other structures and fixtures. Duties also include the actual hands-on work in this area. Work is performed under the general supervision of the foreman with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise other assigned workers.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Supervise mechanical electrical teams and participatory work of the electrical controls and PM functions, and ensuring that the electrical systems are operational, properly maintained and monitored.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain Driver Records Check, to be an approved driver for TTUHSC to operate fleet vehicles to pick up parts for jobs.

Occasional Duties
  • Other related duties as assigned and deemed necessary by supervisors.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years experience as a licensed journeyman in designated trade; OR five years related experience. Job-related vocational training or education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain Driver Records Check, to be an approved driver for TTUHSC to operate fleet vehicles to pick up parts for jobs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyman License in the State of Texas
  • Skilled in precision use of the tools and devices used in the trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical systems and equipment including wiring methods, procedures, materials, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principle methods and practices of the trades utilized in the maintenance of buildings.
  • Ability to guide and advise maintenance crews.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
