Summary: Inputs data and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and prepares shipping orders and bills of lading to maintain shipping schedules by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Verifies information regarding incoming and outgoing shipments including bills of lading, invoices, shipping orders, and other records.
Prepares and distributes all documents required to meet shipping schedules.
Communicates with management, Customer Service Representatives, and other personnel regarding freight charges, status of shipments and details related to shipping processes and schedules.
Maintains and updates files and order acknowledgements.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Vo-Tech or 2-year administrative degree or certificate preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
