• High School Diploma or G.E.D
• One year of clerical or customer service experience, preferably in shipping and receiving
• Familiarity with warehousing procedures and processes preferred
• Ability to operate lift truck and hand truck to move materials preferred
• Computer literacy and ability to look up and enter information using a computer
• Ability to learn specialized software related to departmental operations including shipping/tracking
• Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information, and respond to questions from customers, employees, and others
• Customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests; and escalate the more difficult matters appropriately
• Knowledge of basic business English including vocabulary and spelling
• Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and common sense skills

Job Description:
PRIDE Industries is a fast paced company with a mission: To Create Jobs for People with Disabilities while providing high quality, value-added solutions to our nationwide customers. We are currently seeking a Traffic Clerk to join our outstanding Warehouse and Distribution Team.

This position performs a variety of warehouse traffic control duties; including logging, routing, shipping and tracking orders and verifying information for internal and external customers. This includes processing and monitoring pending shipments of products, coordinating the Distribution Department’s logistical requirements and coordinating the delivery of freight through transporters and carriers. Knowledge of all phases of the shipping and distribution processes with the ability to record and track detailed information and operate lift truck or hand truck to move product and material shipments are required.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Prepare and process outbound orders physically and systematically for shipment
• Schedule logistics activities with drivers and external freight transporters
• Enter and maintain records on the weight, destination, charges, and shipping documentation for all outbound orders
• Maintain dock scheduling for both inbound and outbound loads
• Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move shipments from staging to shipping areas
• Communicate confirmation of freight deliveries to internal customers
• Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned

This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary to provide strong customer service, build customer relations, and work well in a team oriented working environment. Strong time management with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and adapt to changing work priorities is necessary. Previous experience working with people with disabilities or a passion to do so is a plus.
