What we offer

The role’s primary duties are to plan, schedule, and route outbound domestic or international shipments of freight, using knowledge of material requirements, freight forwarder process, delivery instructions, and customer requirements. Proactively schedule outbound freight with carriers and ensure efficient and timely movement of goods and material and help to improve On Time Delivery.

This position reports to the Distribution and Packaging Supervisor, but may receive direction and training from other designated personnel. Employees in this position must be able to train others to perform routine tasks.

Position Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include: process all air/ocean/truck freight following domestic and international shipment(s) outbound delivery instructions.

Audit outbound shipments, paperwork and material in an expedient manner to allow for quick turn around time to the customer; and to detect defects to prevent poor quality product from being shipped.

Follow procedures and instructions assuring continued smooth operation of the outbound freight to efficiently, effectively, and consistently meet customer scheduled demand, requirements and expectations.

Escalate delays due to carrier pickups, missing products, and routing instructions to ensure appropriate resolution.

Calculates pallet loading to maximize usage of container (air/ocean) and consolidates when possible.

Finalizes paperwork to move and/ or accompany shipments, i.e., inland bills of lading, export packing lists, hazardous declaration forms, completely and accurately to avoid penalties or fines.

Comply with all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) and International Air Transport Association (I.A.T.A.) regulations.

Print and prepare shipping documentation.

Create delivery notes and Bill of Lading for all shipments.

Print commercial invoices when needed.

Ensure Certificates of Analysis are included for all shipments.

Ensure Certificates of Origin and/or North American Federal Trade Agreements (NAFTA) are provided as needed.

Follow the instructions of the Distribution and Packaging Supervisor.

Must be able to adjust to changes in workflow, prioritize as needed, and meet deadlines.

Must be able to keep on schedule with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of proper material storage, handling requirements, and disposal of hazardous waste materials.

May be required to pick the material, pull the material, and prepare shipment(s) according to delivery instructions.

Demonstrate initiative in making suggestions to improve procedures, offering better ways to meet customer expectations, and ability to bridge ideas into actions with guidance from supervisor.

Must be able to make timely and accurate updates for recording and reporting purposes.

Ability to gain complete knowledge of SAP software for the specific function.

Ability to take direction from multiple individuals and work effectively in a team environment.

Adhere to high standards of attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.

Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

Able to adhere to all Henkel Safety Policies & Procedures.

Must maintain high level of energy and professionalism on the job.

Must be able to retain information and training.

Practice good housekeeping habits throughout the facility with focus and personal contributions towards a clean and organized assigned work area at the end of the assigned shift.

Who we are looking for

High School graduate or GED equivalent.

Proficient at routine mathematics, which includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Ability to pass basic mathematics proficiency requirements and skills assessment testing.

Must be trainable to safely operate production equipment and maintain daily records for work performed.

The employee must have excellent attendance record.

Must be able to retain information and training.

Must work efficiently and within established time frames and effectively function within a team environment.

Able to read and follow instructions, safety procedures, proper waste disposal procedures and standard operating procedures.

Fast-paced warehouse/shipping/office environment.

Processing Information -- calculating, tabulating, auditing, and/or verifying information or data.
