Job Title: Traffic Desk Assistant Business Unit: Crop Nutrients, Henry IL
Reports To: Business Administrator FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: This position provides support to the Business Administrator in the areas of distribution, packaging scheduling, shipping/ receiving, and sales support/customer service. This position is also responsible for answering incoming phone calls and directing them to appropriate parties as well scaling trucks into and out of the premises.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
- Performs duties consistent with Company and Regulatory mandates pertaining to working and EH&S requirements.
- Provides direct support to the Business Administrator including:
- Answers incoming phone calls and directs them to the appropriate parties.
- Scales trucks coming into and out of the premises.
- Supports the coordination of raw material and finished goods traffic for rail and trucks.
- Provides support in the analysis of the packaging schedule to meet sales forecasts.
- Provides direct customer service.
- Arranges direct customer freight/shipping and generate Bill of Ladings.
- Processes customer direct orders.
- Provides support in the coordination of rail traffic to meet operation’s and shipping’s needs.
- Provides A/ P matching and reconciliation on purchase orders.
- Assists in generating and sending all production and shipping documents to Corporate Office.
- Performs additional duties assigned by Supervisors and/or Plant Manager.

Education and/or Experience : This position is considered entry-level. Minimum educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a business setting and previous customer service related experience of six-months or more are preferred.
Language Skills : Ability to read, comprehend instructions, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively to management, customers, staff, and coworkers.
Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and accounting.
Reasoning Ability : Position requires practical problem-solving skills, operational and mechanical; ability to apply common sense understanding to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills : Position requires computer skills in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
