The City of Santa Clara Department of Public Works/Traffic Engineering Division is currently seeking one (1) or two (2) Engineering Interns. This position is a great opportunity for students who are seeking experience in the field of Civil Engineering. The position will provide the student with diverse job responsibilities including a variety of tasks and projects. The hours are part-time (within the hours of 8AM and 5PM, Monday through Friday). The ideal candidate would be able to work 15-30 hours per week.
This intern position will directly support engineering activities in the Traffic Engineering Division. The intern will work closely with an Engineer and/or The Traffic Engineer to complete tasks and projects.

Typical Duties:
Assist in the review of plans and files for compliance with City rules and regulations and City engineering standards
Interact and assist the public and developers related to Traffic Engineering services
Conduct field measurements, data collection, traffic engineering studies, assist with engineering design and update record drawings
Provide administrative support for engineering projects including filing and data entry
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in drafting and computer aided design
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED
Satisfactory completion of courses in algebra, geometry and trigonometry
Currently enrolled student in an engineering program or closely related field at an accredited college or university
Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required
