Department: Public Works
Responsible for the routine and emergency installation and maintenance of approximately 8500 signs per year throughout the unincorporated portions of Jackson County.
Responsible for emergency signing and special project signing throughout Jackson County.
Provides maintenance of warning lights. Assists in construction project signing.
Fabricates specialty signs for installation, and orders supplies for sign making.
Provides support for the installation of license plates, specialty safety markings for equipment and vehicles, and decaling vehicles and equipment and the inventory of plates and signs.
Is subject to 24-hour notification of “on-call” status to install emergency signage for critical situations where traffic diversion is necessary, a roadway hazard exists, ice/snow removal or flooding has occurred jeopardizing public safety
Must have a High School Diploma/GED
Experience in sign fabrication, two (2) years experience in sign installation and regulations.
Must be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
Must possess Missouri CDL License with Air Brake (N) Endorsement or obtain within six months.
Must submit to/pass pre-employment background and drug screen. BARGAINING UNIT POSITION.
