The trainer for Base Management will identify, design, and deliver various training initiatives, including new hire training, processes and product releases. The trainer for Base Management is also responsible for certification programs and management of TelePacific’s learning management system. Position requires a dynamic, customer focused, creative leader with excellent presentation and writing skills.
Works under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Sales Training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is measured on the performance and retention of new hires (employees in their first year of employment with TelePacific), and the growth of existing employees based on specific curricula based objectives as set forth within the programs.
Individual will work closely with the TelePacific training team continuously developing and implementing training curriculum fitting the needs for TelePacific Communications sales channels.
In order to help TelePacific grow its revenues, specific responsibilities could include:

- Creating curricula
- Leading classes both in person, online and via video, test and score student participation
- Provide feedback and coaching as appropriate
- Coordination, planning and administration of learning classes and portals
The trainer will work with company management in identifying appropriate training approaches, which will include classroom, webinar and on the job training formats, using relevant training materials such as texts, handouts, exercises or role-plays.
Continue to build, update and revise course content and training methodology in order to maintain currency and relevance.
Assess training needs for the team in conjunction with management. Customize training content and format to fit company objectives.
The trainer will spend time with sales and product marketing and will work with management teams evaluating the effectiveness of training and look for training opportunities.
When the trainer is not conducting, documenting, and evaluating formal training, he/she will be available as a resource for associates who may need help with additional training or refresher training.
Develop, modify and maintain training curriculum
Coordinate and design standardized training materials (including leader guides, multimedia visual aids, job aids, practical exercises, self-learning and/or web based instruction formats) for new and existing programs, promotions, products, processes, services and systems
Update and modify materials based on best practices, policy/product/system updates or to improve employee performance/training effectiveness
Effectively communicate with management to identify and recommend process improvements
Perform all administrative duties associated with conducting training (including all pre-training prep work, administering schedules, obtaining system logins, post training assessments, travel arrangements, etc.)
Manage database for tracking employee development and training initiatives.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent experience required.
- 1 year or more ILEC / CLEC (landline based) telecom experience required
- Demonstrated experience in both developing and delivering (sales/product/process) curricula specific to multiple sales channels in a high-tech business to business environment. You must be able to show a portfolio of curricula and deliver a presentation as part of the interview process.
- Two plus years’ experience training as well as other professional services experience required.
- Valid Drivers’ License

Knowledge of adult learning principles
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
Demonstrated proficiency in instructional design principles, processes and methodologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Word/Excel/PowerPoint (knowledge of Adobe Presenter, Camtasia, Articulate, Prosperity Learning Management System, WebEx and GotoMeeting a plus)
Must be highly motivated, organized and detail oriented
- Must be proficient and fluent in the English language
- Must have the ability to regularly communicate in a manner that is respectful, professional and collaborative
Some afterhours travel may be required
50% to 75% travel anticipated within Texas, occasional travel to Las Vegas and Texas. Travel by air or automobile based on location.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Presenter, Camtasia, Articulate, Smart Draw, ZIIVA/Prosperity Learning Management System, Webex, GoToMeeting and general office machine skills are required.
