This position is responsible for coordinating and/or preparing plant-specific training literature, manuals, systems and class instruction on the fundamentals of mechanics, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration and boiler maintenance and other related subjects; creating and maintaining training aid equipment and materials, student records and control the scheduling of classes; preforming maintenance orientation training of new maintenance team members; interfacing with appropriate vendors concerning training content and delivery; coordinating safety training of the maintenance department; preforming other tasks as deemed appropriate by the maintenance manager; interfacing with the Corporate Maintenance Training Team to provide input in the creation, revision and delivery of the Tyson-standard maintenance training program. Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: 3+ years' industrial technical training management and delivery experience and/or industrial maintenance experience; proven good safety and attendance record along with strong managements skills; completion of Equipment System Qualified Program a plus. Computer Skills: Standard computer skills; Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint; ability to learn Tyson SAP-Plant Maintenance System in 90 days; strong document organization skills, use of technical materials and research techniques. Communication Skills: Ability to speak, read and write in English is required; ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of management, operations personnel and vendors; ability to successfully convey technical concepts, processes and procedures to trainees. Certifications: Manufacturer-certified trainer or teaching licensure in secondary post-secondary vocational training a plus. Special Skills: Proven ability to effectively mentor trainees one-on-one and train small groups on technical topics; critical thinking and problem solving skills; display sound judgment, leadership, organizational skills; work independently with littlesupervision. Supervisory: None. Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year; may require travel to vendor training seminars and meet with corporate wide peers and maintenance training group.
