Responsibilities

The Revenue Cycle Trainer reports to the System Director of Revenue Cycle Operations and is primarily responsible for providing support and training in revenue cycle operations including developing and conducting educational programs designed to meet the orientation , continuing education and regulatory requirements for all associates performing revenue cycle functions. Supports the achievement of optimal customer outcomes and revenue cycle operations by facilitating individual growth, active support for participation in improvement initiatives and collaborative/team oriented work ethics. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

1)Provide instruction to associates in the use of registration and scheduling systems and processes. Engage the learner, management, and auditing data in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational activities. Ensure educational activities reflect the identified needs of the target audience and/or organizational priorities, and relate to revenue cycle operations knowledge or practices. Design educational activities that support critical thinking and new ideas, individual growth, open communication and collaborative relationships. Ensure content, teaching methods, and evaluation strategies are consistent with objectives of the educational activity. Document: needs assessment, description of target audience, educational objectives, content outline, materials utilized, teaching methods, evaluation strategies and designation of appropriate physical facilities and resources for each offering. Provide publicity/marketing of the educational activity to the intended audience in a timely manner. Evaluate and alter as necessary educational activity based on analysis of results. Furnish mechanism of feedback to the learner and management as appropriate.

2) Provide system user support to facilitate health services delivery/patient care. Respond to
user inquiries in a timely, effective manner . Analyze recurring problems and formulate plans to address each, coordinating efforts with others as required. Identify common trends and prepare/deliver system tips to end users via updates, intranet website, etc. Develop policies and procedures with input from affected personnel. Monitor overall system performace for delays, downtime, errors, and other related problems.

3) Assist in monitoring and ensuring the quality of care/services through the utilization of
research techniques, current literature findings, and collaborative efforts. Patricipate in departmental quality improvement processes. Utilize quality improvmentdata to improve revenue cycle operations processes.

4)Collaborate with manager to identify self-development opportunities. Participate in inservices, workshops, conferences and staff meetings. Attend a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education activities annually. Cross train in various departmental functions to assist in smooth delivery of services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

*Two (2) years experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of revenue cycle operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Training experience and/or healthcare experience preferred.
