Our people are our greatest asset at Boxer Property! As one of the largest private property management companies in Houston, our human resources department is growing and making a day-to-day impact on our company and culture.
Boxer Property views itself as a learning organization and once we have created the 'space' for people to learn, we need to maximize the opportunity by delivering our own internal courses in a professional and quality manner. The Training Coordinator needs to be engaged with our department teams to assist in building a learning syllabus in any relevant area, or seek the appropriate external resources.
Job Scope: Build training capabilities and infrastructure A company culture that values training must invest in infrastructure. Without the right tools and standards, even the best programs can lose steam. In our case, this includes an LMS, LCMS, a great company university, and the standards and skills needed to create our own training materials. Develop and curate training materials Any teacher appreciates the importance of a good lesson plan – and the challenge of creating one! A big part of this role will be to get our training content together, whether you buy it (or find it on YouTube), help a departmental specialist develop materials, or just do it yourself. Manage training programs You can't just set up a program and expect it to run itself. We all know how that goes. Maintaining a healthy training culture requires systems, analysis of effectiveness, and continual advocacy for the role of training in a growing company. Actually train Of course this position includes actually training people yourself, especially for topics that lack a departmental specialist. You will be in the classroom, online, and working directly with key employees on executive development projects. All other duties as required
Other things to know: The Best of Both Worlds. Boxer is a stable company with a 20 year operating history, and yet we are growing rapidly (having doubled in size over the last three years). We value systems and process, but experiment frequently. We are both conservative and entrepreneurial. Technology Matters. Technology is revolutionizing education, in schools, companies, and everywhere else. It can turbocharge training delivery and management, and that's important for us. In this role, you would work closely with our IT team, and would be expected to think creatively about the kinds of things you would find here: Travel. This position requires some travel, but is primarily based in Houston. The exact amount of travel will depend on the kinds of systems we develop, but 20% is probably the upper end. Don't Be Scared. Be Excited. We know that the job described above looks like a big one, but remember two things. First, some of this work – and certainly the basic building blocks – is already in place. We are a structured company with robust QA programs and clearly articulated processes and procedures. Second, it's ok if this job is a bit of a stretch. Some people love a challenge, are ready for the next step, and do their best work on BHAGs. That's who we are looking for.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Education or Human Resources with Training and Development emphasis 0-2 years of corporate training experience Familiar with using LMS systems Experience creating training materials, including use of Camtasia or Captivate Training certifications a plus Spanish speaking a plus To apply: Please send ALL OF: Resume Cover letter or paragraph Current salary / history / requirements
