Experience instructing foreign military ELT students Specific Job Description ESL Instructors plan and conduct plan and conduct classroom instruction of ESL/EFL, evaluate student performance, advise on the placement and training needs of students, adapt and develop instructional materials, and make professional recommendations for improvement of curriculum design, training materials, student administration and training program management
Tasks & Duties
Develop weekly lesson plans ensuring that approach, emphasis, sequencing, and techniques are compatible with lesson objectives as outlined in the American Language Course, Specialized English Training (SET), and Oral Proficiency Skills for Aviation (OPSAV) course tailored to the language skill proficiency needs of the students
Conduct classes applying sound ESL/EFL methodology to ensure student practice in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, to provide opportunities for authentic use of the language, and to establish a student-centered learning environment conducive to language learning
Conduct and monitor Interactive Media Instruction (IMI) computer/multimedia testing laboratory sessions
Maintain a neat and orderly classroom, office, and laboratory
Annotate and close out student academic records weekly, assigning student effort assessment, and certifying the accuracy and completeness of the record
Annotate student attendance records
Assist the Test Compliance Officer (TCO) conducting book quizzes and monitoring weekly and/or monthly ECL tests
Annotate student academic records, provide results to students, and conduct student counseling sessions as needed
Assist with creation/development, evaluation/assessment, and/or recording of additional training materials Standard Job Description Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs. Security Clearance None Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
