The Training Manager is responsible to manage the service, parts, and sales training for the industrial dealer network.
This position strives to lead, define, create, and provide leadership for service, parts, and sales training and development initiatives for the global industrial dealership organization.
Design learning solutions by partnering with Subject Matter Experts within the Company or by researching outside vendors for content.
These learning solutions include classroom training, webinars, e-learning, or on-the-job training.
Manage assigned personnel in performance of their duties including, but not limited to, hiring, evaluation, motivating, scheduling work activities, and corrective action. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the Organization’s business strategies and objectives.
Facilitate training sessions to engage participants in the learning process and achieve desired outcomes and objectives. Formulate training policies, programs, and standard work based on strategic needs assessments, company standards, and policy deployment.
Gather and analyze training data to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of training programs and create driving measure goals for dealership training programs. Administer and evaluate effectiveness of Service Technician Certification Program (STCP) to ensure it provides value to the Organization and its dealers. Report and monitor achievement of driving measures for Policy Deployment.
Travel to and from dealer and customer sites worldwide to facilitate in location training.
Participate in Parts and Service Conference, trade shows, customer day events, sales meetings, road shows, and demo tours. Develop and maintain relationships and rapport with Global and Key Account contacts, potential, and existing end use customers and dealerships.
Facilitate meetings with the company leadership i.e. Executive Team and their direct reports, Project Leads, and the policy deployment project leaders to assess strategic training needs for the global dealer organization. Conduct formalized needs assessment for the global dealer organization to identify training needs for their service, parts, and sales personnel. Formulate a strategic training plan based on the results of the needs assessment and create projects as required.
Provide coaching to Subject Matter Experts within the Organization to improve their facilitation style or techniques used in class. Confer with internal managers and supervisors to determine training needs for specific employees/departments and match those needs to available in-house training or make recommendations for outside training resources or self-study opportunities for those individuals.
Bachelor’s Degree in Training & Development, Education, or Business Management.
4-5 years previous job experience and/or training in Training Management; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Ability to demonstrate the use of the full assigned Vermeer product line for the appropriate segment.
Ability to operate vehicles such as car, pickup, and low-behind trailers.
Ability to operate a digital camera and an LCD projector.
Knowledge in the areas of Adult Learning, Facilitation techniques, Training Industry Trends, Technology Industry trends, needs assessments, organizational policies, and Vermeer Policy Deployment.
Ability to effectively manage projects, people, time and resources.
Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers.
Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with customers and peers.

Demonstration of good oral and written communication skills.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Valid driver’s license, passport, vaccinations and inoculations are required for overseas travels.
Certificates preferred in Facilitating Adult Learning, Project Management, Integrity Selling Facilitator, and Public Speaking.
