The Center of Excellence for Regenerative Health Biotechnology ( CERHB ) at the University of Florida is recruiting one full time Senior Training Specialist for our Education and Training Programs. The ideal candidate will be involved in teaching and training a wide variety of students, including those pursuing post-secondary certificates and degrees, and direct workforce training. This person will also assist in the development and optimization of curriculum which meets the needs of the biotechnology industry, will teach a variety of biotechnology-based courses, and will prepare and maintain CERHB’s 5000 square foot industrial biotechnology teaching facility for hands-on learning. This person will also assist in the documentation and reporting of grants, and will perform outreach to higher education, and the business community.

Develop, improve and beta-test courses alone and with other instructors. Participate in teaching industrial biotechnology courses to students, and applies teaching techniques to best achieve course, program and CERHB objectives. Manage the CERHB Education Facility. Including: preparing the CERHB Education Center laboratory in advance of each class or event, inventory, selection and ordering of reagents and supplies, maintenance of equipment, properly storing and disposing of biohazard and chemical waste and ordering and preparing instructional materials (e.g., textbooks, manuals). Assist in writing and preparing documentation for grant proposals and progress reports to support the Education Center.

Typically, Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M.to 5:00 P.M. Requires availability to work in the evenings, weekends and overtime when required or needed. The person selected for this position may be required to teach at other facilities during regular business hours (8:00-5:00) of operation, and may coordinate or teach evening/weekend classes.

Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and six years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
