Training and Development Specialist

The main responsibility of this position is the development and delivery of Business Process Development through SAP classroom training with a focus on Customer Support processes and operations and how they are applied in the SAP system. The training is primarily for new hires and those changing roles in the company. The trainer may also participate in training associated with upgrades that require larger groups of personnel to attend classes. The trainer will develop training presentations and exercises following the company standards and using existing materials defined for each process. Trainers are expected to assist with logistics associated with scheduling and tracking attendance. The overall goal of the trainer is to improve end user productivity and to maximize successful use of the SAP system. .

Reporting Relationship:
Reports to: SVP Operations/Head of Human Resources
Works closely with: IT Operations, Customer Support, Distribution

Primary Responsibilities:
The candidate must possess a professional proactive approach to problem solving, reliability, and the ability to rapidly learn new technologies and processes.
The candidate must demonstrate understanding of business processes and system touch points from which they will develop classroom, online training modules, along with appropriate job aids, that will be necessary to efficiently and effectively train individuals in the customer support functions. This position requires a focused resource that can coordinate and design the intensive training, documentation and related communications activities to the development of new hires. This position must demonstrate strong communication skills, experience with instructional design strategies for users with varying skill sets, experience with developing training modules and materials in a variety of formats.
Responsible for the user acceptance testing and approval; focusing on process and IT testing environment.
Develop training courses in a variety of in-person, synchronous online, and self-guided e-learning formats as well as supporting documentation and job aids.
Assess functional and individual training needs to develop and maintain the respective training materials, manuals, and learning management system.
Responsible for documenting and executing system test scripts from a business processes perspective.
Assist with outreach and informational sessions
Analyze feedback, make recommendations and make adjustments accordingly.

Desired Skills/Experience:
Experience with SAP and technical instruction including hands-on computer training, synchronous online webinars, self-paced e-learning modules, and lectures.
Experience with implementing educational strategies for teaching adult learners.
Experience with writing and/or maintaining documentation such as user manuals, reference guides, and online help text.
Expertise with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working independently, pro-actively completing project activities, communicating with subject-matter experts, and making recommendations for improvements in training strategies.
BA Degree
5+ years of experience developing and leading training - technical or operational preferred - in a fast paced environment with complex products and services
Consumer Packaged Goods or Wholesale industry experience strongly preferred
Advanced group presentation and facilitation skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle competing priorities
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within team environment
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Proven ability to collaborate and influence
