RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervises transition accounting and clearing account team for Genworth's US Life business segment
• Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, feedback and direction for associates
• Ensures daily accounting, clearing and balancing processes are completed successfully
• Reviews daily, monthly and quarterly account reconciliation of suspense receipts, disbursements and other accounts involving various interacting admin systems
• Work with Operations, IT, Finance and Actuarial teams to identify root causes and implement controls to minimize clearing items
• Assist team in resolution of Admin System and transactional accounting issues including identification and development of new processes as necessary
• Perform monthly account analysis and variance research
• Support monthly financial close and reporting
• Support daily accounting processes
• Provide detailed, consistent and timely feedback to management, both verbally and in writing
• Manages US Life Quarter-end Account Reconciliation process and provides guidance to associates as required
• Lead process improvement projects from initial design through implementation
• Participate in Special Projects, as needed
• Support External Audit, State Exam and Internal Audit data requests
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 5 years of extensive accounting experience
• Minimum of 2 years of prior management experience
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Results Oriented - Proven ability to set and meet aggressive goals
• Proven time management, prioritization and organizational skills
• Flexible/Open to change - ability to adapt positively to changing needs of business
