PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Translation Service is a component of the globalization strategy for the firm. This strategic capability enables client reporting as well as other functions required for globalization. The Translation Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating translation projects across the firm. Responsible for managing the timely flow of all translation project actions from receipt to delivery, ensuring that projects meet quality, turn-around time and budget expectations. In addition, works with business units/users to create business processes that can be effectively supported by the system. This role also trains system users and manages customer and supplier service level agreements (SLAs). Also responsible for the development and maintenance of the infrastructure within the system to ensure it is up to date and processes within T. Rowe Price(TRP) and with Language Service Providers are in place to support it.
Acts as project manager for all translation projects routed through the translation system. Responsibilities include ensuring requests are appropriately routed through system, overseeing the production of all translation projects to achieve highest level of client satisfaction, quality and efficiency as well as ensuring translated materials are accurate, follow established policies, and are produced within the agreed upon project deadlines . Effectively communicates project status to internal customers and business partners on a regular basis and partners with business units to ensure their expectations are met and managed. The types of documents requiring translation needs include RFPs, sales kits, periodic client reports, regulatory (Legal/HR) documents, marketing collaterals (brochures, commentaries, etc.)
Manages and monitors supplier SLA’s. Implements supplier service level agreements related translation services provided by suppliers. Measures and evaluates suppliers against service level agreements and provides documentation to Vendor Relationship office and Project Manager, Marketing Operations. Gathers and analyzes performance statistics to evaluate suppliers and inform quarterly reviews to maintain and improve partnership with suppliers. Tracks and reports supplier spend as well as spending by the various business units/users.
Provides on-boarding and training of new users and serves as support to existing users. Proactively identifies process gaps and identifies new, or optimizes existing processes. Also develops supporting process documentation and communicates to users to reflect process enhancements and changes. Reviews process and project workflows to identify trends and areas of opportunity. Coordinates requirements gathering process by documenting new enhancements and usage needs, providing forum for feedback to gather input from users. Works closely with GBS&T to identify potential improvements or issues. Acts as subject matter expert in system processes and acts as primary contact for users (both internal and external) as issues arise. Performs User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements and fixes.
Analyzes translation memory to maximize cost efficiencies and savings. Develops methodology for content review to establish best practices for translation memory review.
Keeps up-to date on leading edge solutions in market to generate innovative ideas to solve business challenges related to translations.
•4 college degree
•3 years experience in translation/localization project management
•Knowledge of translation technologies such as translation memory, global information management, machine translation, and web content management
•Experience in the translation industry
•Experience operating in a matrix management infrastructure
