REPORTS TO:
Transportation Manager

SUMMARY

:

To assist in providing transportation services for Hartford Public Schools and Out of District students.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
·

Assist in working cooperatively with school administrators to determine transportation needs.

·

Assist with the monitoring of compliance with Contract, provided by vendor for City Students.

·

When necessary, assist with accessing liquidation damages per contract against vendors.

·

Assist with transmitting Transportation request received from Schools and the Special Education department.

·

Help maintain city bus tickets logs for special programs, parochial, non-public, and vocational schools; periodic follow-ups on ticket distribution for all programs.

·

Assist to create and monitor route and schedule development.

·

Assist monitoring and verifying eligibility lists; works with school administrators.

·

Assist with monitoring Transportation procedures.

·

Work cooperatively with all contractors to resolve transportation situations in a timely manner.

·

Assist with the review of bills for accuracy.

·

Help maintain database files on students who are transported.

·

Assist and handle all issues pertaining to transportation.

·

Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
·

Associates Degree or three to five years of experience working in the transportation industry.

·

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·

Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with school staffs, contracted vendors, and community personnel.

·

Must be able to relate courteously and tactfully to students and parents.

·

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

·

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

·

Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of a quantitative nature.

·

Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel.

·

Ability to work under pressure within time constraints.

·

Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
HESP (Hartford Educational Support Personnel) Salary Grid: C485 ($47,161 - $55,930) 12-Month work year.
