Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Position requires a compassion for the sick and elderly with a nursing inclination, must be adaptable to working as part of a team, be mature and professional and have a high degree of common sense and good judgement. Must communicate effectively with people and deal with emergency situations carefully, calmly and effectively.

Certification required to obtain: Adult Basic Life Support certification within the first 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities: Responsible for poviding transportation for a group of patients, from simple to complex, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, as well as transporting medical equipment and material. The Dictionary of Occupational Titles Material Handling Classification is MEDIUM. The employee must regularly lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 pounds, frequently lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 - 25 pounds, and occasionally lift, carry or push/pull up to 20 - 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk. The employee is frequently required to bend, do fine motor, do repetitive motion, hear, reach, speak, and quat. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, sit, smell, and stand.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception, far vision, near vision, and peripheral vision.

The employee is frequently exposed to airborne pathogens, bodily fluids, moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to bloodborne pathogens, chemotherapeutic agents, electrical hazards - shock, radiation, slippery surfaces, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
