Location and Hours: Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia. We are open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Successful candidates will work eight-hour shifts within that time frame.
Job Overview: MacNair Travel Management is seeking an experienced Corporate Group Travel Consultant to support high profile group clientele. The successful candidate will be experienced in domestic and international "Group" travel, to include airline group pricing, flight routings, vendor negotiation, group ticketing, group hotel room management and ground transportation.
Background and Skill Set: Candidate must have a proven minimum 3 years experience as a Corporate Group Travel Consultant arranging complete domestic and international travel itineraries, to include air, car, hotel and airport transfer modes, for groups ranging in size from 25-500 travelers. Successful candidate must have effective and professional oral and written communication skills. Act as the liaison between the client and the traveler at all times, to ensure travel needs are met, adhering to established travel parameters, and customer satisfaction exceeds expectations. Candidate must possess and excel beyond a basic knowledge, in a variety of PC-related skills and/or software, to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge and experience with corporate travel technologies and with a minimum 3 years Sabre GDS is mandatory. Currently working on Sabre GDS preferred.
Self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision.
Maintains client profiles, ensuring special requests, corporate discounts and reward program information, such as frequent flyer numbers, hotel discounts and traveler preferences are included. Know and properly uses: airline terminology, codes, GDS formats, fare basis, airline rules and tariffs, resource guides, and industry contacts.
