CrossingBorders, Inc. is a Minneapolis-based tour company specializing in the creation of customized international group tours for churches and educational groups. 16 years of serving the needs of group tour leaders and travelers, CrossingBorders has a strong repeat clientele and well-established niche in the group travel market for extraordinary service and expertise.CrossingBorders has a comfortable, bright and spacious office in West Bloomington, Minnesota.Education, Experience and Requirements Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university. Five years of group travel industry experience. Excel at working independently, managing a schedule of responsibilities and deadlines along with strong problem-solving and proofreading skills. Command a friendly, professional telephone manner and ability to give small group presentations. Demonstrate strong English grammar writing skills for correspondence and documents. Proficient in MS Word; familiar with the programs in MS Office, particularly Access. International travel experience a must with group travel experiences a significant plus.
Primary Responsibilities Work closely with international ground operators coordinating and finalizing travel arrangements including daily itinerary, hotel reservations, transportation and special visits. Assist in arranging educational programming, special visits and people-to-people exchanges, many with church leaders and of a religious or spiritual nature. Develop a collaborative relationship with group tour hosts that are supportive to the tour programs purpose and mission. Engage in calls from prospective tour members, identifying their interests and selling them into appropriate tour programs. Facilitate group airport check in on departure day and conduct group orientation meetings one month before tour departure. Administrative and coordinating responsibilities include processing tour registrations, data base entry, creating reports, assembling travel documents and managing group airline reservations including seat assignments and ticketing. Occasional Responsibilities Work some evenings/weekends to conduct group presentations and facilitate airport check ins. Escort an international group tour.
