Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and recommending process/system improvements to enhance departmental efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy, and defines the scope of related projects and resource requirements
  • Works with multiple data sources and tools to analyze trends in premium receipt activity and payment methodologies, merchant fee activity/cost, and banking fees for presentation of key findings to Treasury management
  • Ensures sufficient system data is being captured for use in analyzing premium, fees, and other key elements. If not present, works with Treasury management and other departments to ensure such data is captured
  • Collaborates with Treasury Manager in the design and maintenance of metrics to monitor data quality and of departmental applications and processes to support work flow
  • Creates and maintains “as is” and “future state/ideal” process documentation
  • Participates in Treasury projects and performs banking/investment activity reporting, analysis, and support as needed
  • Serves as backup to Treasury Specialists and Treasury Manager functions
  • Serves as subject matter expert on Treasury Services issues & initiatives, and provides project, finance, and audit support as directed

Qualifications:
  • Three or more (3+) years of experience in financial/business analysis roles or equivalent work experience with increasing levels of responsibility required
  • Experience with database technologies, relational technology, data models, and databases (DBA, Oracle, or SQL server)
  • Proficiency in accounting principles and practices required
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics or Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience required
  • Knowledge of financial accounting systems (PeopleSoft preferred), treasury management systems, and insurance policy administrative/billing systems strongly desired
  • Insurance industry or certificate in general insurance desired
  • Demonstrated mathematical/statistical and accounting proficiency and/or successful completion of one or more CAS or SOA Actuarial exams desired
