Square is hiring a Treasury Analyst to oversee the cash management function. The role will span treasury operations, accounting and analysis.

Responsibilities

Monitor daily cash activity, prepare cash reconciliations and maintain the relevant general ledger accounts.

Manage treasury relationships with banking partners (e.g. account services, fees, upgrades, documentation, integration and troubleshooting).

Prepare reporting for Treasury-related activities, including fee analysis, daily cash flow reports and investment portfolio.

Manage portfolio and ensure compliance with investment policy.

Establish policies and process to manage foreign exchange exposure.

Responsible for On-call issues relating to flow of funds to users and from banks.

Identify treasury-related control weaknesses, communicating to management, and implementing remedial changes to tighten and enhance controls and mitigate risk.

Responsible for partnering with engineering on feature additions to money moving systems.

Refine framework for evaluating and managing business risk.

Requirements

The desired candidate must be highly analytical and inquisitive with a keen attention to detail.

Strong communication skills are required.

Candidate must enjoy getting "hands dirty", have a strong work ethic and excel in a fast-paced environment.

Treasury and Accounting knowledge and experience

Strong investigative, research, problem solving, and evaluative thinking skills

Ability to analyze and resolve moderately complex problems

Tech savvy – ability to work with MySQL, advanced Excel skills and NetSuite a plus

Strong working comfort with and articulately communicating accounting debits and credits

Solid understanding of working cash management, corporate finance, reconciliation systems, and financial statements

Self-starter with strong prioritization and organization skills, the ability to work within deadlines and work effectively on multiple tasks in a demanding environment

Passion for Square. Strong interest in technology / knowledge of the industry

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA, MBA and/or CTP a plus

A minimum of 3-6 years of relevant work experience
