You will work with our clients to help drive the standardization and improved accuracy of their shutdown, turnaround, outage (STO) and capital project activities.
Our clients' technology solution is quickly gaining industry recognition as a leader in the project cost forecasting area. Leading energy companies are using this solution to manage costs and accurately forecast projects in excess of $350 million dollars.
A challenging and rewarding environment that will inspire a Project Cost Engineer to achieve these first year objectives:
1. Achieve subject matter expertise with the technical solution. Assist and lead customers with improved project forecast accuracy of their STO and capital projects.
2. Work with clients to implement best practice processes and solutions in an effort to promote standardization and consistency in their STO methodology across all company owned assets (e.g., Refinery, Chemical Plant, Steel Mill, Paper Mill, Nuclear Power Plant, etc…)
3. Work with clients and industry experts to help finalize and create the next generation project cost forecasting solution. Our clients' existing user base is continuing to rollout the project globally. Capture and implement client recommendations and functionality requests and assist in getting these new features implemented in the solution.
4. Assist in the education and promotion of the technical solution to prospective customers. Team up to support sales effort with more detailed meetings and demonstrations of the technical solution. Serve as the go to resource for project cost forecasting activities
Each customer’s needs and processes are unique which will require the cost engineer to use their knowledge and skills creatively. Key attributes to ensure a cost engineer’s ability to successfully achieve the first year objectives and continue to grow their career at our client include education and experience in project cost management in a process industry, successful completion of STO activities and involvement with greater than twenty STO projects. Knowledge of project scheduling and estimating is required. Good oral and written communication skills are important. Attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks during a long work day, and the skill to maintain organization amidst chaos are a must.
