DESCRIPTION

The Tutor, under the direction of the Community Administrator, provides an educational program for students in grades K-12. The Tutor will create a flexible learning environment favorable to learning and personal growth.

DUTIES

Curriculum and Instruction
1.Supports the implementation of the Palomar Apartment's vision, culture, and educational goals.
2.Provides instruction in groups of 13-13 students with varying ages.
3.Diagnoses students needs and implements differentiated instruction to address needs of each student to ensure highest educational achievement.
4.Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and ensures a functional and enticing learning
atmosphere in the Tutoring Program.
5.Teach language arts, social studies, mathematics, and science.
6.Identifies students' needs and cooperates with parents ensure academic success.
7.Performs basic attendance reporting.
8.Maintains good public relations with parent groups.
9.Ability to retrieve, analyze, and sort data to make instructional decisions to improve student performance.
10.Assists in the selection, evaluation, and procurement of instructional materials for the state/and or federal programs with the assistance of staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.A Bachelor's Degree in education related field.
2.2 years experience in elementary school as a tutor, teacher or student teacher.
3.In depth knowledge of project based instruction, differentiated instruction, and convergence thinking.
4.Competency in human relations and oral and written communication.
5.Knowledge and experience with English Language Development.
6.Knowledge with upper level (High School) mathematics.
7.Ability to work well with people: broad grasp of educational planning and curriculum.
8.Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
9.CPR/First Aid certified.
10.Criminal Background clearance required.
11.Genuine concern for students and passion for quality education.
12.Role model for students.
