Education and Experience High school graduate or GED is required. Must be able to disassemble & assemble complicated respiratory equipment. One year related experience preferred.
Environmental / Working Conditions Occupational exposure is of medium risk for blood borne pathogens. May come in contact with hazardous chemicals & contaminated equipment.
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships Good communication skills with medical staff, nursing, and ancillary departments to assure teamwork approach toward patient care.
Job Description Responsible for processing all dirty respiratory equipment in accordance with hospital policy & jcaho Requirements. Perform preventative maintenance on designated equipment. Work closely with biomed to keep other equipment up-to-date. Also responsible for maintenance of respiratory care storage areas. Maintains adequate inventory of equipment & supplies.

Physical Capabilities Work is light to medium, requiring a minimum amount of walking & standing a great deal of the time. Frequent bending & lifting. May be required to life object weighing over fifty pounds.
Skills and Abilities Demands good hand-eye coordination. Fine motor skills are essential to perform procedures & manage equipment.
