PROJECT DESCRIPTION : This unpaid internship is ideal for the individual seeking to expand his/her professional development in the field of human resources, internall branding and communications planning. The HR Services Communications intern will be responsible for development and oversight of a branding and communications plan associated with the rollout of a new integrated human resource management system and other strategic LOE initiatives. The intern will be engaged with the Human Resources team within the broader Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness (LOE) team at Mercy Corps headquarters.
The LOE team exists to attract, retain, and develop talent that will lead Mercy Corps into the future. As part of this team, Mercy Corps’ Human Resources Services team’s mandate is to provide support to the agency in meeting its goals by providing consistent, fair, transparent and respectful service to its most valuable resource – its people.
The intern will be able to develop and deploy an internal branding strategy as well as gain knowledge and experience in the Human Resource sector of international non-profit management and operations.
The intern will develop a communications strategy associated with the implementation of the HRMS and other LOE initiatives. Organize meetings associated with the communications plan and track project status.
The intern will participate in the development of an internal branding strategy for the rollout of the new HRMS and other LOE initiatives which will reach our domestic and international team members.
The intern will schedule project team meetings, create agendas and track deliverables associated with the communication and branding strategy.
Other duties as assigned.
IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS :
Undergraduate, Graduate student or recent graduate with coursework related to public relations, marketing or a related field.
Demonstrates high level of attention to detail, ability to complete tasks, meet deadlines and work cooperatively among complex teams.
Knowledge and/or experience in developing a communication and branding strategy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
