Performing all ultrasound techniques and examinations; includes cyst aspirations and biopsies.
Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
Selects and operates equipment as directed.
Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
Secures supplies and maintains cleanliness of the equipment and ultrasound room.
Consults with others to obtain a complete clinical history; gathers pertinent clinical data.
Coordinates scheduling, transportation, and scanning of patient, especially those with multiple examinations.
Instructs radiologic technologists in ultrasound scanning operation for purpose of cross training.
Aids in furthering the education of student radiologic technologist.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: ARRT certified with three years experience. Must be ARDMS eligible with necessary clinical requirements or a graduate of an approved Ultrasound program and is ARDMS eligible.
Experience: Preferred but willing to train.
Knowledge: Doppler preferred. Assure ECE and must maintain ARDMS certification. Participates in professional organizations.
Physical Demands: Able to move patients and equipment. 30% - 40% walking, sitting in one position and manipulating transducers for a given length of time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions: Dark room. Withstand heat exchange from units.
