The Ultrasound Technician performs obstetrical exams to confirm fetal viability, evaluate fetal anatomy, multiple pregnancies, evaluate placenta, amniotic fluid and umbilical cord, etc. Performs gynecological exams to evaluate pelvic anatomy, ovarian pathology and uterine anomalies. Performs abdominal exams to evaluate liver, gallbladder, kidneys, pancreas and spleen for pathology
High School Diploma or GED required. Must have completed requirements for the academic and clinical program in diagnostic medical sonography and be registered or registry eligible.
The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers requires candidates to have documented evidence of twelve months clinical experience under the direction of a Radiologist.
