Performs complex technical duties requiring the use of analysis and the use of calculations and judgement in recognizing and identifying transverse anatomy on ultrasound images to obtain diagnostic results. Visual and spatial acuity required to perform critical measurements, especially for obstetrics, vascular and carotid ultrasounds. Technologist must assess the adequacy of the image and judge if correct scans were obtained. Assures emotional, mental, and physical well being of the patient. Must fulfill the CME points set by organization. Must be available to rotate call on off hours, weekends, and holidays.
Must be registered in ARDMS or registry eligible. Must be CPR certified.
This position requires completion of the allied health program. Completion of formal or on the job ultrasound training program.
Technologist must be able to select proper transducer and gain settings to produce diagnostic scans. Each patient exam should be completed based on exam type and acuity. Team member will perform exams and will consult with radiologist and lead technologist, as needed. Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communicational skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively will all internal and external unit customers, as needed. Must be able to accept responsibility, make independent decisions, and interact with professionals. Must be proficient in word processing and database management. Must be able to perform exams on all ages (pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric).
