· Act as a liaison between the client and underwriting
· Evaluate mortgage applications
· Provide quality loans for the company by underwriting and evaluating residential mortgage applications
  • Approve or reject residential loans within limited authority
  • Keep informed of current and acceptable practices ad underwriting guidelines
  • Communicate loans decisions to sales associates and loan processors in a timely fashion and ensure compliance deadlines are met with regards to pre-disclosures, approval letters, denial notices, and counteroffers.
  • Consult with the closing department to ensure that all underwriting conditions are met prior to closing the loan
  • Analyze credit reports, financial statements, income, and appraisals.

Education & Experience
· 2 or 4 year degree preferred
· Strong mortgage loan processing experience required
· At least 3 years of mortgage industry experience

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
· Basic administrative skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Intermediate computer skills in a windows environment
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent customer service skills
· Strong proof reading skills
· Team oriented with ability to interact within and outside of the organization
· Able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines with quality in a fast-paced environment
· High School Diploma is required
· A college degree is preferred
