The Underwriting Metrics & Reporting Analyst is a new position, within a new organization, so the right candidate must be able to design and produce top quality reporting while simultaneously offering innovative strategic insights to drive process improvement and greater efficiency. Core to our success, and to that of the candidate, will be the ability to synthesize large data sets originating from multiple sources, think broadly, see/use information differently, interface with smart marketing/sales people, and maintain a keen eye on operational KPI’s that ensure our competitive advantage.

The ideal candidate will be a metrics and analytics expert who wants to join this dynamic and growing team and help lead the underwriting capability into an era of better reporting, more detailed insights and greater productivity.

This is not easy. The right candidate must be able to envision success before it’s visible on the horizon and must be passionate and driven to help us design a path to get there.
Assess key performance data and support analytical model development to drive strategic decision making.
Provide regular data reporting, analysis, trending and recommendations to business management with a focus on data integrity and presentation including regular and ad-hoc underwriting reports, key performance indicators, dashboards and operational reporting
Conduct complex research and analysis to identify and quantify business opportunities and issues and develop recommendations and status reports for projects and initiatives
Assist in billing and reconciliation of evidence providers, produce financial reporting and support the development of senior-level presentations
Consult with business leaders and partners to determine data reporting, analysis, and timing needs for planning efforts.
Promote reporting enhancements to create timely, accurate and user appropriate reports for stakeholders
Support project management functions through original concept/implementation and monitors post deployment to ensure execution and provide detailed status reports.
Prepare exhibits, summaries, and presentations for use by business management based on the evolving needs of the business
Analyze and reconcile vendor invoices while identifying opportunities and business cases to realize efficiencies on medical requirement ordering
4 years experience in metrics and analytics, including developing, analyzing reports and making operational recommendations for areas of improvement.
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) with 2 years experience
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills including the ability to prioritize multiple deliverables at varying stages in a dynamic environment
Advanced knowledge of metrics and analytics, with Insurance operations
Exceptional ability to build partnerships with other departments across the enterprise and work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Conceptual, analytical, and independent thinker who is a decisive problem solver
Experience with Visio and SharePoint
Strong collaborator with sound business judgment demonstrating the ability to multitask an a high-paced environment
Three to Five Years
