As a Commercial Underwriting Audit Specialist, you will join the Underwriting Audit team, a valuable department that collaborates with Underwriting to enhance profitability and productivity.
Complete internal and external underwriting audits on new business, renewals and quotes to assess underwriting compliance, quality of risk and file handling from a pricing and policy construction standpoint.
Develop and update requirements for automated tools used to collect and track audit results.
Identify and communicate audit trends, learning opportunities, and assist in developing the appropriate training vehicles and objectives.
Based on audit results, initiate requests to create or update underwriting philosophies, guidelines or procedures to improve profitability.
Represent the department in inter-departmental meetings and maintain positive relationships with internal departments, external vendors and customers.
Education and/or Experience
A minimum of 5 years commercial insurance underwriting experience with General Liability and Property lines of business.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer programs in a Windows environment.
A Bachelors degree.
A background in Excess and Surplus lines.
CPCU and/or AIC certification(s) or completion of insurance related classes.
